June 4, 2009 This is becoming a busy news day~ MIRS (Michigan Information & Research Service) has just reported that there has been some activity in committee to find money to be able to reinstate chiropractic, eye, dental and podiatry in the Medicaid budget or at least alleviate it. This from the Appropriations Committee of the House where the vote to do so was 18-1 with 10 passing on the vote. Chair(s) McDowell (DCH) and Spade (Human Services) apparently found funding from other pots and put forward this bill for this year's budget. There is no news beyond this committee vote so stay tuned. |
